The main purpose of all programs run at the museum is to be a dynamic display to show technologies of from a time period of the 1860’s through the 1930’s. Period clothing can be added at a later date. Early computer technology would be added at a later date.
The blacksmith shop would used to cast and weld parts for museum replicas. The blacksmith shop would also support production of replacement parts for museum or outside customers.
The machine shop would used to finish metal parts produced in the blacksmith shop for museum replicas. The machine shop would produce parts for the museum replicas that do not originate in the blacksmith shop. The machine shop would also support production of replacement parts for museum or outside customers.
The carpentry shop would used to produce parts for museum replicas. The carpentry shop would also support production of replacement parts for museum property.
Other shops would help finish replicas made in the museum. The finishing shop would paint and detail. The upholstery shop would finish anything cloth or leather.
The mechanic shop would work with the machine shop to assemble copies for museum use. These would be horse drawn buggies, cars, trucks, motorcycles, busses, bicycles and household appliances.
The recording studio would be available for visitors to experience the production of a record. The goal is to have two such studios. The first would be of a 1905 acoustic studio. The second would be a 1925 electrically recorded studio.
The community darkroom would be available for anyone that wants to learn early photographic techniques. The idea is to teach manufacture and development of glass plate photographs and other early photograph styles. The darkroom would also develop photographs taken by visitors using museum cameras.
Property owned by the museum or on loan with permission, would be available for use. An example would be a sewing club using the collection of non-electric sewing machines. A bicycles club could use Victorian style tricycles to participate in a parade.
Office and convention space would be available to sponsor club meetings, shows and conventions. The museum staff would be available to partner with collector clubs and other organizations in planning conventions.
